It wasn't lunchtime, nor was it anywhere near actually. Somehow, Jared Dagger had gotten a bit hungry and had decided to saunter to the cafeteria to grab something from one of the vending machines. Despite that it was only morning, the teenager had grown hungry, probably because he skipped breakfast and hadn't eaten much for dinner the night before. No, he wasn't anorexic, or had any eating disorder based on his looks, then again, if the boy thought he was fat, he needed his eyes checked because he was mostly just skin and bones. He had gotten off most of the drugs, but the years of use had pretty much destroyed his appetite.
As he finally entered the large room, he glanced around before he pulled his wallet from the back pocket of his black skinny jeans. Yes, he knew the weather was mostly warm in California, it had been hot in Texas as well, but the boy still wore his skinny jeans. He checked his wallet to see if he actually had enough to get anything. Thankfully, he did. After he pulled two dollars from the wallet, he put it back into his back pocket. As he brought his hand back around, he adjusted his black 'Calm Like A Bomb' shirt that hung off his scrawny frame.
At last, he reached the vending machines. From the snack machine, he just got a bag of Sun Chips. It was his luck that as the bag came out, it got stuck. Muttering curses, Jared kicked at the machine, but that didn't help. So, he left the food that he had rightfully paid for, now willing to spend extra money just to get the one bag. Going on, he went to the drink machine and easily got a Coca-Cola bottle from it. As he leaned down to grab it, he realized that his shoe was untied. So, he set the drink down on the floor and tied the shoelaces to his shitty black Converse, that were both old and tattered.
Once he was done with his shoe, Jared grabbed his drink and stood up. He walked away, with only one of the two items he had planned on having. Fucking machine.

Bragie stumbled out of his dorm room, tiredly. He had just woken up, and needed some ice from the ice machine so he could use it to cool his water. Duh. His hair was messy, but it was so short it hardly mattered. His eyes were a little puffy and swollen from sleep as he yawned, and waddled his way through the hall. He was in boxer shorts and a white t-shirt.
He nearly ran into Jared on his way into the ice room where the vending machines were. "Oh," he said, waking up a little. He looked... pissed. "Sorry, man." He said, giving Jared a pat on the shoulder. He looked behind him and saw the bag of chips. "Damn," he said, "I hate it when that happens." He walked over to the machine and gave it a hard hit on the side. Bragie had become pro-status at getting those bags to fall. Maybe it was the muscle he had built in football, or maybe that machine tried to jip him of potato chips too often.
The bag fell to the grab-area, and Bragie reached in to get it. "Here you go." He said, handing the bag to Jared and turning to the ice box. He grabbed a little plastic bucket and started to shovel ice out. His hand was cold from the specks of frozen water that hit it, but it wasn't unbearable. It just made him want to shovel faster so he could run his hand over warm water and feel that bit of pleasure before his hand was no longer cold. If that makes any sense at all.

Jared stumbled slightly when Bragie bumped into him. He muttered under his breath and flinched slightly when the taller boy patted him on the shoulder. "It's fine," he mumbled, but apparently the other boy didn't hear him, as Jared watched him walk over to the vending machine and get the bag of chips out. Apparently, Jared just didn't have the muscle to put the fear into the snack machine.
"Um, thanks," he said once Bragie handed the bag to him. He didn't bother with opening it yet, and just held the chips and soda in one hand. For the most part, he didn't know what he was going to do next, or if he was even going to go anywhere. Either he would just hang around in the cafeteria, or head up to his dorm. One way or another, he was going to eat that bag of chips, because he was just getting more and more hungry by just standing there.
As he watched Bragie, he tilted his head slightly, not entirely sure what the other boy was doing with the ice. "Um, what are you doing?" he asked, bluntly, since he decided to not leave the question unanswered. Then again, if the boy didn't understand something, he tended to just blurt out a question, not really caring if he came close to offending anyone or not.

Bragie looked up from his ice-shoveling. "Oh, getting some ice." He said, with a smile. "I like to have ice ready in the freezer so I can... you know, put it in my water and stuff." He shrugged and chuckled a little bit. "Why do you ask? Does it look like I'm doing something other than shoveling ice into this plastic bucket?"
Once he had finished, he put the ice scooper back into the ice box and held the bucket with one hand. He had no plans for today, which was kind of shocking. Maybe he'd go to the park and hit golf balls or something. "Hey, Jared," he said, "Do you have any plans for today?"

Jared nodded, "Oh," was pretty much all that came out. He shrugged, "I don't know, I just thought it was a bit random," he clarified. He put one hand in his jean pockets while the other one still held his drink and snack, and he shifted his weight to one leg. "I guess I was worried about getting ice thrown at me," he said a bit teasingly, not entirely sure why though.
At Bragie's question about his plans for today, Jared pulled his hand from his pocket and ran it through his hair. "Um, not really," he answered. With a quick shrug, and a smirk, he continued, "I think the furthest my plans go at the moment is to eat these chips, and I'm not even sure where yet."
Obviously, Jared was never one to make plans. For the most part he just either wandered around to find something to do, or just hung out in his dorm.

Bragie smiled. "I won't throw ice at you, promise. I'm not that rude." He switched the bucket from his left hand to his right. Bragie noticed that he was still in his pajamas, and that Jared was already dressed. It was funny, really. He'd never really thought Jared to be the type of guy who got up and ready so early. Especially because Bragie was that type of guy; the hours in a day meant a lot to him.
"Well," Bragie started, pressing his lips together in thought. "We should do something today. I'm not busy at all, which is a first. I probably should go meet all of my teachers before the first day tomorrow, but I'm not really in the mood for that." He hoped that Jared would agree to hanging out with him. He was, after all, Bragie's only real friend.

Jared grinned, "Well, I'm glad you're not that rude," he stated. He had noticed that he was pretty much dressed before Bragie, but then again, Jared never liked walking around in his pajamas, so he normally got dressed as soon as he got out of bed. The only thing he was glad about was that he didn't have to wear any type of hoodie or jacket, although it would be his luck that the chills would come up later when he was nowhere near his dorm.
"I'm good with anything," he answered to the taller boy's question about hanging out with him. "As long as it doesn't involve school," he quickly added. Then he raised his pierced eyebrow, "Wow... For once you're not busy all day, that is a first, although my days tend to be like this anyways."

Bragie smiled, his straight teeth were almost glowing white from all the whitening sessions his parents forced him through. It hurt like hell, too, getting those teeth whitened. At the time, he swore he's never forgive his parents for making him do it. Ha, but then he forgave his parents. "Why? Are you afraid I'll make you come with me to meet my teachers?" He snickered.
"I was thinking we could like, toss a frisbee around at the park or something." Bragie suggested, shifting his weight over as he reached up to scratch the nack of his head. "This is probably the last time I'll ever be free all day, so whatever you want to do let me know now or forever hold your peace." He laughed.

Jared shrugged, "The less I have to deal with teachers the better," he stated. The boy did fine with grades and did pass all of his classes, despite that he gave off the attitude that he could care less about any of it. For the most part, Jared had no idea what he was going to do once he got out of high school, all he knew was he planned to pass everything and graduate. As far as college went, he wasn't entirely sure.
The boy rubbed the back of his neck and clicked his tongue piercing against his teeth, which was a habit he had whenever he thought of something. He could think of things he wanted to do, but at the same time these things would admit the fact that Jared had a crush on the taller boy. As far as the crush went, the boy kept it to himself, he liked having Bragie as a friend, and was pretty much afraid of what would happen if he admitted the crush.
Finally he stopped clicking the piercing against his teeth. "I would guess that the park is fine, better than nothing," he stated with a shrug.

Bragie nodded. He could hear the clicking of his tongue ring against his teeth, and thought maybe he had something in his mouth. It didn't immediately occur to him that his tongue might be pierced, mainly because piercings had always been something Bragie associated with females. Girls always got things pierced, and only really tan guidos got things like their ear, or their nipple pierced.
"Cool!" Bragie said. "Just let me go put some clothes on, and I'll meet you back out here in like, ten minutes?" Bragie said, starting to walk back to his dorm room. "It won't take too long," he said, as he walked backwards towards his room. He was, admittedly, really looking forward to hanging out with him today.

Jared nodded and smiled, "Okay," he replied. Although as Bragie left, Jared just stayed in the cafeteria, since he had no need to go get dressed. With his bag of chips and soda in hand, he walked over to one of the empty tables and sat down. He pretty much nibbled on the Sun Chips as he pulled his phone out and started to go through it, either replying to a text or just messing with a game. After a couple minutes, he put it back in his pocket, not all that interested in it since he wasn't like the people that were like married to their phones.
Once he finished the chips, he went and threw the bag away. Returning to his drink, he sat down in the same chair. He took a few sips of the soda before he crossed his arms on the table and laid his head down on his arms. Within a couple minutes, he closed his eyes, but was nowhere near about ready to fall asleep, since the boy had surprisingly gone to bed early the night before.

Bragie jogged up to his bedroom and pulled on some clothes; a pair of cargo shorts and a large t-shirt that said 'Liberty University'. His keys jingled in his pocket, and his tennis shoes kind of made a sticky noise on the floor. It wasn't because they were sticky on the bottom, it was because that's just how the material of the bottom of his shoes sounded against the cheap vinyl.
Before he left the room, he grabbed his football and a frisbee, then jogged all the way back to the cafeteria. The weather was a typical summer morning; it was hot outside, but the air was kind of cold. It was fresh though, the kind of air Bragie enjoyed breathing in. He opened the door to the cafeteria and called out to Jared. "You ready?" He asked.

Jared looked up when he heard Bragie. He nodded and then stood up, while he grabbed the Coca-Cola bottle that was over halfway empty by now. His hair was still a mess from this morning, but he left it alone, technically it looked fine.
Soon he walked out of the cafeteria and caught up with Bragie. He glanced over at the frisbee and football Bragie had brought along. The boy tilted his head slightly, "I don't think I've ever played football," he stated, although when you considered how scrawny the boy was, it made sense. As far as sports went, the most he had ever played was basketball back in middle school, which was a while back considering he was a senior in high school now.

Bragie handed Jared the frisbee. "Really? Ah, man. It's so much fun." He squeezed the football between the palms of his hands and made an agressive face. "I get really into it though. That's why I'm here- football recruit. I think it's a blast." Bragie could imagine that Jared had never played football; the kid was incredibly skinny. But, he knew why. That talk at the coffee shop earlier this week had really cleared things up with them, and even made them friends.
They arrived at the park fairly quickly; it wasn't too far away from the school. It was a beautiful park, too. It was surrounded by all kinds of trees, including palm trees. The field of grass was huge, it was perfect for tossing a frisbee around. "Go long!" Bragie said, hoping to get the chance to throw the football at least once today.

Jared shrugged, "I think the most I ever did was basketball," he replied. He still thought about the fact that he had recently developed a crush on Bragie, but then quickly tried to force the thought away. There was no way that could happen, right? Bragie played football and was pretty much a jock, and he hadn't really met a jock that was gay.
He took the frisbee and then ran from the other boy. He looked back before he turned around the face Bragie. It took a couple seconds for him to get settled, but he soon threw the frisbee back towards the other boy. Apparently, he had overestimated how far he could throw, because the frisbee only went two thirds of the the distance.
