Joan smiled appreciatively at Dianna's compliment, and how she was tapping her thumb against her hand. "Thanks..I was kind of going for a Suzi Quatro sort of thing," If you hadn't figured out already, Joan idolized Suzi Quatro, as old as her music was. She was one of the only woman that dared to sing rock music, and she wasn't famous to most now, but she was to Joan.
She liked Dianna's...everything. Her hair, her eyes, she even had nice skin. Joan bit her lip, mentally shaking away her train of thought. She shouldn't be thinking that, this girl probably wasn't even gay.

Dianna honestly had no idea who Suzi Quatro was, so she just settled for smiling happily and absently watched other people skating. However, she quickly stopped doing this when she watched as a poor little girl tumbled onto the ground. It was probably best to just not look around.
"Have you lived your whole life in Rose Wood?" Dianna asked curiously. She couldn't imagine living her whole life in this seemingly-boring place. At least she had managed to make friends here. For the first year after she moved to Rose Wood, she was a loner who just longingly stared at groups of girls who seemed to be such good friends.

"Yeah, pretty much. I'm actually from LA, but moved here when I was like...five or so. I don't remember Los Angeles all that much," Joan grew up in California all her life, mostly in Rosewood. She would love to go back to LA though, to see what its like from the eyes of a sixteen year old instead of a five year old.
She noticed that Dianna was asking a whole lot of questions, but didn't quite answer them herself. Joan didn't mind though, it was better than skating around with nothing to talk about.

Dianna nodded. She herself was from Texas and the only reason her rather irritating accent didn't show through was because she was quite good at hiding it and making a point to pronounce the certain letters and avoid the slang that she would have typically used. Deeming this as pointless information that didn't need to be said, she searched her mind for another question.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" A pause and a blush later, Dianna was trying to backtrack. "I'm sorry, that was uncalled for. What's your favorite song?" She asked, giving Joan a way out of answering her initial question. She really didn't need to be prying into this poor girl's extremely personal life. She was just...far too curious for her own good.

Joan blushed immediately at the mention of a boyfriend. She chose to answer both questions though, even if Dianna had revoked the first one. "No..no boyfriend at the moment. My..my friends say boys don't like 'tough girls," she chuckled. She just sought out tough boys instead. "And my favourite song is The Wild One, by Suzi Quatro."
Joan didn't mind the personal questions, really, but couldn't help but notice Dianna was still clutching to her hand while she was skating perfectly fine. She wasn't about to pull her hand away any time soon though

Dianna smiled with delight when Joan didn't seem irritated by her first question. She did notice the change in color on Joan's face (to her, her face went a bit yellow). "Tough girls are cute," she teased. A bit of playful flirting never hurt anyone, but it could just be taken as an ironic statement. "You and that Suzi Quatro," she laughed.
There were a lot of questions that she could ask, many of them dirty or too embarrassingly personal for her to ask. But she also didn't want to ask boring questions. It was tough to come up with good questions for someone that she had just met. "How's life?" A lovely question to ask.

"I'm the wild one!" Joan sang happily, "I'm the red hot fox, I can take the knocks," She decided she'd stop singing there, as not to embarrass herself, or Dianna. She had a pair of wedges that she loved dearly, they had 'Suzi Quatro' stamped into the side.
"Life's alright, I guess. I really wanna move out though." Back to her bible preaching parents again. Gay is a sin, blah blah. They hand their suspicions of Joan, but never outwardly addressed her on her sexuality.

Dianna laughed slightly, squeezing Joan's hand out of amusement. "Wow. That was lovely," she laughed, brushing her hair out of her face. Her smile faltered slightly after that. "Are your parents annoying or something?" She asked curiously. "My parents let me get away with a lot. They're pretty great," she hummed. She had come home drunk at various times of night and though they reprimanded her, they were worried. Her Mom usually put her to bed after her Mommy gave her some crackers and milk. In the morning, one of them would have set out some Advil on her nightstand and a glass of water.
"If I ever move out, I'd want to live with someone. Being alone just isn't my thing," Dianna laughed slightly. She was skating rather well, considering she had basically forgotten that she was doing it.

Joan could sing quite well, actually. She still wouldn't want to receive any funny looks from anyone for just breaking into a song out of no where.
Joan's parents were tolerable. They took good care of her, they provided her with what her heart desired, but, it felt like they didn't love her as much as they could. When her father bought her a guitar, he promptly said she couldn't take any lessons. When he bought her roller skates he could never make time to spend with his daughter and teach her how to skate.
Joan was brought up very, very religious but now that she can think and decide for herself, she doesn't believe in anything she was taught. These people have no way of proving anything they preach. Its in the Bible, so it must be true. Counts of bigamy, incest and child sacrifice were all depicted as acceptable. But not homosexuality.

Dianna hummed absently to herself, cutting herself off when her stomach snapped at her again about its hunger in the form of a beastly growl. Okay, okay. "Do you mind if we take a break? I'm kinda hungry," she admitted with a sheepish smile, stiffening slightly in an effort to stay balanced. It was almost like she had just remembered that she was skating.
The blonde was, unfortunately, one of those girls who was self-conscious about eating in front of other people. Instead of a massive hamburger like she wanted, she'd probably end up getting a small amount of fries and eat them in the slowest and cleanliest way possible.

She turned to Dianna, realizing she had spoken a moment after she had done so. "Oh, yeah, sure." Joan smiled softly, "I'm kind of hungry myself." At the mention of food she had only just noticed she was actually in the mood for something to eat.
Joan slowly towed Dianna back away from the mass of roller skaters to the nearest bench again. She had to make a bit of an effort to get the uncomfortable skates off. None of them were ever properly broken in, no matter how many people came here. Every single pair would hurt your feet.

Dianna managed to stop at the bench after some difficulty, releasing Joan's hand only after she was sure that she was sitting safely on the bench. "Thanks for letting me use your skates," she smiled. "I can't imagine how sore your feet are." She easily slipped Joan's skates off of her feet and set them on the bench next to her while waiting for Joan to finish taking the crappy rental skates off.
"I'll have to look into getting my own skates. It's actually not too bad here if I have someone to cling to," Dianna laughed slightly, having realized that she had pretty much held onto Joan almost the entire time they had been skating.[/blockquote]

Joan wiggled her sore toes, not even daring to check the damage hidden beneath her socks. "Well, my toes feel like they're about to fall off if that says anything." She smiled a little, at least she had fun. Joan set the rental skates down beside her own on the bench. "Alright, so, food now?"
Her stomach gurgled quietly, reminding her once again that she hadn't had much to eat all day. She was in the mood for a big, fat slice of pizza to shut her grumbly tummy up. Joan stood up, retrieving her wallet from her pants' pocket. "Let's gooooo,"

Dianna nodded, hooking her fingers into Joan's custom skates to carry them before getting up, gingerly patting her stomach while she hunted down the window that she recalled seeing earlier where she could get food from. When she saw a menu on the wall, she figured she was close. Her eyes lit up and her stomach growled again when she noticed a woman standing at the window, reading to take orders.
Gingerly patting her pockets for her money, looking towards the menu right next to the window. Indeed, there was an option to get small fries, so she went with that. Turning her attention back to the rather bored looking woman, she happily ordered her food at the same time that she pulled and handful of change from her back pocket.

She snatched up the crummy rentals and followed Dianna over to the snack booth, glad Dianna had come across it. She looked over the menu taped to the wall, sad to see they didn't have pizza. She patiently waited for the woman to finish with Dianna's order while she decided she'd get a burger.
When it came to her turn to order she gladly decided on the burger, flipping open her wallet and searching for what cash she needed to pay. "All you're getting is fries?" She asked Dianna, figuring by the sound of her stomach she'd be starving.
