Tom looked up from pouring the vodka for a split second to see what her outburst was about, only to forget to bring the bottle back into in upright position he had poured too much. "Oops, guess that'll be mine." he made a mental note that it was the purple one that had waay to much alcohol in it.
He finished the drinks and slide the cup closer towards her in indication it was her's. "If y'don't like that, there's always the beer." he said before taking a drink for his cup. god that was strong

Dezzy smiled and thanked him. "I doubt I'll even taste it," she added. She took the cup and put it to her lips, taking one last moment to consider her actions. She threw some of the alcohol to the back of her throat and swallowed, making a face. "Ugh," she said, "It's like swallowing rubbing alcohol."
She threw the liquid to the back of her throat with every sip she took. Pretty soon, it was settling in her stomach as the alcohol began to take affect. She was beginning to get gigglier, but she wasn't drunk yet. She didn't feel the need to throw up, either. She figured that though she had stopped drinking, the tolerance was still there.

Tom finished the drink quickly, trying not to laugh at her face. "Y'want more juice wif' it or somefin'?" he asked, setting his almost empty glass down on the counter again. He liked the taste as much as anyone else did, but it was just sitting in his kitchen cupboard, waiting to be opened.
He swallowed the taste out of his mouth, the warm effects of the alcohol starting to work his way into his blood. He noticed that Dezzy was starting to loosen up as well, finally.

Dezzy giggled and shook her head. "No, thanks." She said, pausing. "I mean, I would like some more, but the amount of juice was fine." She laughed at her silly awkwardness and handed him her green cup. "Do you like the taste of it? Because you swallowed it down like it was nothing." She paused again for a momet before adding with her same giggle, "That's what she said?"
Now Dezzy remembered why she didn't drink; 1) it didn't take too terribly long for her to get tipsy, 2) immediately she started to say stupid things, and 3) it wouldn't be log before her logics would be affected. She would guess two more drinks and a beer would probably be enough to make her forget tonight by tomorrow morning. So much for a "tolerance."

Tom laughed, disregarding her 'that's what she said!' joke. "Th' taste jus' doesn't bother me all too much," he explained as he poured her and himself another drink, this time almost pouring himself straight vodka. He was planning on getting very drunk, as rude as that was he actually had an excuse to for once. He had to admit, it did taste something like rubbing alcohol would.
He was starting to get sloppy 3/4 of the way through his second drink, giggling like a little boy at almost anything she said. The vodka was stronger than he thought it would've been, clearly.

Dezzy was giggling as well, at things that didn't even matter. It was starting to get to the point where she couldn't walk straight by the time she had started on a beer. She should have stopped and waited for the rest of the alcohol to kick in, but she was sure that she wouldn't be drunk enough until she could barely hold her drink up. This was the logic effect.
"Do you.. Do you remember that one time?" She giggled, "When I almost drowned in the water?" She let out a loud laugh and covered her mouth as she told the story. "And then you saved me? I thought, haha, that I was going to be swallowed by a shark. Or a whale or something ." She continued to giggle through her story, though in the back of her mind she knew she wasn't funny.

Tom grinned, laughing, "Ai don' fink sharks uh' whales would b'out tha' close t'tha' water, m'dear, mush.." Again, with a sloppy accent in tow. He surely was awful to understand at this point. He reached over for a can of beer, opening and downing most of it. He felt this could be a fun competition; who drinks the most without vomiting.
Why not show the girl a good time? Hell, she was a whole lot more fun to be around when she was drunk. "Ai...say w'have a game!" he grinned, "Whoever drinks tha'most wiftout chunderin' everywhe'a wins."

Dezzy practically rolled over laughing. She literally almost spat out the beer in her mouth. "I don't even know what you just said!" She said, holding her sides to keep them from bursting. Now that she had forgotten about how easily she could slip onto her old alcoholic ways, she was having a blast. Tom was funny and pretty damn cute when she was drunk.
In the morning, she would promise to never drink again. That's always how it would happen. She would get drunk and then et hung over, and she'd swear on her life she wouldn't drink again. And then, she'd drink again and the cycle would start over. There were a few nights of her past Dezzy wishes she can remember, but to this day can't recall what happened.

He laughed with her, about to repeat his sentence but knew it would only make her laugh harder. People generally found it amusing to listen to Tom sound out words with a 'U' or 'O' sound in them. Like 'fucking' would come out as 'fookin'. "Somfin' about sharks an' chunderin', I'unno," he grinned, finishing off his beer.
Thomas had gone through quite a few drinks at this point, only a little drunk on his standards. 'Drunk' would be to the point of vomiting. He'd probably continue drinking afterwards as well.

Dezzy emptied the beer can into her mouth and stumbled over to Tom. Not only had the previous alcohol made her drunk, she was still processing her last drink and was about to be even more drunk. She wrapped her arms around Tom in a big hug. "You saved my life!" She said with a giant smile. "My hero!" She had wanted to give him this hug thensecond he pulled her to safety but was too shy.
Apparently, all it took was three drinks and a couple beers. The inability to speak without slurring also played a part in her newfound looseness around Tom. He was the kind of guy that she needed to be drunk around in order to feel comfortable around him, I guess. But she didn't notice. Right now she was just happy to be alive and well enough to drink her night away.

Giddy laughter bubbled up his throat as when she embraced him. "W'y'very welcome m'dear, fair thee mush," He was uttering drunken nonsense now as he had another beer. He admired the big grin on her face. "S'all I deserve s'a hug?" he slurred further.
Tom had lost count after those drinks and the three beers, it didn't matter to him. He was enjoying the night with her, it seemed that he had found a new drinking buddy! It still hadn't sunken in that he had actually saved Desiree's life. If he had driven off, she would have surely been dead.

Dezzy stepped back from the hug, still in a fit of giggles. She had barely understood that last part, just enough to say, "What more do you want?" Her words were slurring together, and it was only getting worse from there. Fortunately, she was full and didn't feel like drinking anything more. If she were sober, she would wonder genuinely what more he could want. To save his life next time?
"Oh! I know what you deserve!" She came a little closer to him. "A big fat kiss on the cheek!" She giggled and gently pulled his face toward her, giving him a kind-of sloppy kiss on the cheek. Only she had missed a little and kissed him more on the corner of his mouth. "Is that all you want? Be... Because you're my hero! I owe you one!" She slurred.

He grinned, genuinely laughing along with her. Tom drunkenly pulled her into another tight embrace, "Y'owe me one whot?" he asked as he returned the kiss on the cheek, seeing it only fit because she already kissed him. Logically, it made sense to him.
He was a 'hero'! It felt good to be called that. Thomas Jordan Sykes: Hero. Did he really save her life though? Was it that easy? Maybe, on the slight chance Desiree could have mustered up the energy to make it back to shore. She would have been so proud of herself then! But, that probably would have never happened.

Dezzy smiled widely, making her eyes all squinty. She had no idea what he had just said, but he kissed her on the cheek and she liked it! She giggled, looking up at him in their embrace. If she were sober, she probabky would haventold him he was being inappropriate, and that he shouldn't have expected anything for simply doing the right thing. She'd probably tell hik to leave, and then sit on her couch watching some Lifetime movie wondering if she was wrong to have kicked him out like that.
But, she wasn't sober. Quite the opposite. And she was enjoying this playful flirting she was encountering, because it didn't happen very often. Dezzy wasn't the girl most guys chose to flirt with. She was fun and all, most of the time, but she just wasn't the 'girlfriend' type. Maybe it was her impending attitude towards guys and their lack of respect. Well, she certainly had some respect for the guy that savd her life.

Desiree not responding to his question didn't bother him very much. To be honest he wasn't quite sure he could repeat it again anyways. "Yoo cheeky lil' gal w'yoo smilin' for?" He smiled as he said that and dared to kiss her again, a peck on the lips.
It may not be the right time or place to flirt and be playful, but did it really matter? From what it looked like they were both having a good time. Tom sure what clumsy with his words though, so, was it really flirting or just shameless actions?
