"I don' think I could've jus' driven off knowing y'were a sittin' duck out there." He could tell she was exhausted because she wasn't making very much sense. "W'almost there, do I 'ave t'carry you inside?" Thomas was tired himself, but caffeine would fix that.
He was curious about why she had even gone to the beach in the first place. Was she really waiting for friends that had never shown or was she planning something bigger?

Dezzy shook her head, which woke her up a bit. "No, thank you. I can walk. It's just the dorm hall." She shrugged. For a moment she wondered, but then realized she didn't have to wonder and instead could just ask. "Do you have plans for tonight?" Not that she had plans to make with him. But, if they both had nothing to do tonight...
She shook her head. This was a little ridiculous. She couldn't possibly think she was falling for him, because she wasn't. She was just on the lookout for someone's hand to hold. She just wanted a reason not to like Seth. Well, couldn't she like neither of them? What happened to independent Dezzy who never thought about boys romantically?

He was surprised by her question, " Got noffin' planned, should I?" he asked. Tom genuinely didn't expect her to ask him anything like that. "Why, y'wanna hang out or something?" He assumed she wasn't asking for a date, he couldn't see himself dating her. Not quite yet, maybe after a few drinks on both their parts.
The car halted to a stop in Rosewood's parking lot. The dorm buildings weren't very far away, a very short walking distance. He was still concerned about her foot though.

Dezzy paused for a moment before getting out of the car. She bit her lip- what she was about to say could be taken two ways, and she hoped he'd take it the right way. "Yeah. We should hang out." She said, nodding. "And bring a bottle of something, I'm going to need it to forget about this damn gash in my foot."
That last part had just kind of fell out of her mouth as she opened the car door, and it even shocked her. She hadn't had a drink in a super long time; she hated being drunk. She hated feeling out of control. But, for some reason, Tom brought back the craving. He made it look fun.

He raised his eyebrows with an approving smile. "Well then! I'll see y'later," he chuckled, he'd show her a good time no doubt. Tom was looking forward to hanging out with Dezzy more than he previously thought he would. "I'll make sure to bring something strong."
Thomas loved to drink, and it took a lot to get him drunk. He wouldn't say he was an alcoholic by any means, but he was far from a light weight. He's tested his limit many times, unphased by a bad drinking experience at this point.

Dezzy smiled as she got out of the car. "Sounds good. Come over later, I'll be in room 183. We'll figure out if we wanna go anywhere then." She shut the car door and barefootedly made her way up to the dorms. She had left everything to the tide- her flip flops, sunblock, towel, maybe even her cell phone... But she never used that, anyway. It didn't take long to get to her dorm, it was a just a few funny looks and a whisper of "There's a napkin stuck to that girl's foot," away.
The first thing she did was bandage her foot using the bandages she had in her bathroom. The second thing she did was down a fatty glass of water so she didn't die of dehydration. Then, she got ready for later tonight; even doing her hair and makeup up nicely. It was fun to have an excuse to dress up!

Tom drove the short distance back to his house. Technically it was an apartment in a complex, but either way. He glanced into the back of his car, grimacing. As awful as it was, he'd clean it later.
When 8:45 rolled around he was back in his car, a bottle of vodka and a case of beer propped up in the passenger seat. He had to be sneaky to avoid getting caught by the police that came by campus every so often at night. With that amount of alcohol he was sure to be screwed.

Dezzy mentally prepared herself for the night she was about to have. It was 8:45 by now, and Tom still hadn't shown up. Worst case scenario? She spends the night alone, waiting for her foot to heal. It still wasn't too late for him to show up, but since she hadn't set an exact time she wondered if maybe he had forgotten about her. She had taken a shower and painfully scrubbed the hell out of her foot wound. It was bandaged up again, and she could walk on it with a little limp. Her converse didn't hurt it too bad once she had gotten it on. She might not even need to have shoes on tonight, but she wasn't sure if Tom had wanted to go anywhere other than her shitty dorm room.
She shouldn't say that; her dorm room was hardly shitty. It had two beds, a large bathroom, a couch & television set, and a mini kitchen. Rosewood dorms were probably some of the nicest ones out there. As Dezzy straightened her hair she considered this room compared to her house back home. It was an old, probably haunted house, like all the other eastern homes on her street. And thoughhwr room here was nicer than her room home, she still missed it greatly. She sighed and put some chapstick on, not bothering with much makeup today. Was she really going to start drinking again? Or would tonight be a one-time thing?

Tom had successfully escaped the watchful eye of the campus police, still unsure how he did so with a case of beer and a bottle of vodka. As he made his way up the staircase in the dorm's main entrance his paused, trying to remember her dorm room number. "Fuck!" he hissed under his breath. one-thrity-eight? no..one-fourty? that doesn't sound right either. It took him a few minutes to remember her room number was 183 and he was back on track, soon waiting outside her door.
"Dezzy?" he called as he knocked, "Its Tom, lemme in, me arms are tired."

Dezzy jumped when the knock sounded, and quickly picked up the thing of of her floor and threw them into her closet. She opened the door and greeted Tom. "Hey! Ooh, let me take that for you," she said, offering to grab the case of beer. "Wow, you sure brought a lot." She added, setting the case on the counter.
She was glad he hadn't forgotten about her. But, this part was a little awkward for her. She looked to Tom for some help easing the awkwardness, though she was sure once they had both had a drink or two everything would loosen up quite nicely. Dezzy took a deep breath; yes, she was actually about to do this. But, she didn't have to go overboard. She could have a di k or two and still have fun.

He grinned, "You've seen how I drink." He set the bottle in his hand on the counter as well, able to get a good look at her now. She cleaned up nicely. "Don't you look right pretty," he smiled and set right to work on opening the bottle of Vodka with the pocket knife attached to his car keys. You never know when you have to open something or seriously injure someone.
"Y'got coke or orange juice? Somefin' t'mix this with, its rather strong." he asked once he had opened the bottle. He could drink it straight, but it might be too strong for Dezzy.

Dezzy smiled and looked down a little. "Thanks." She said, deciding against adding a 'you too' to the end of that. She watched him take out his pocket knife- it looked just like the one her brother had gotten for his thirteenth birthday. The dumbass flaunted it around school and the officials freaked out, and blew the whole situation way out of proportion by saying Derek had started a knife fight with a kid. Everybody was forced to go home early that day, which made Derek both a rebel and a hero.
Dezzy shook her head out of rememberance and headed over to her fridge. "Yeah, kinda. I have sprite and cran." She took out a six pack of sprites she was saving for the beach earlier that day but had forgotten to pack it, and a jug of cranberry juice. "I don't know much about mixing drinks, to be honest. I mostly let other people mix it and then decide if it tastes good or not."

He didn't question why she had studied him so carefully when he had opened the bottle. "A'right, what can I do here?" he asked as he tapped his fingers on the counter top. "Y'mind gettin' a couple glasses?" He couldn't do a thing without something to mix the drinks in.
Tom didn't have anything fancy in mind, just some vodka and cranberry juice. It probably wouldn't taste that great but sounded more appealing then sprite. To him, at least.

Dezzy laughed a little. "Right!" She said. She reached behind her on the counter and grabbed two plastic cups; one purple, one green. She set then in front of him and decided to step back and let him do his thing; she knew nothing of mixing drinks. She set her hand down absent mindedly on the stove behind her and turned quickly to see what she had just grabbed - her cwll phone. "Ha!" She laughed, picking it up.
She was convinced the ocean had swallowed the thing. It wouldn't have been too bad, she wouldn't have missed it. She rarely used the device except to call her parents and text her brother every once in a while. But still, it was a relief to find that it was here and not in a whale belly right now.
