Joan Larken
"Wild in the streets, barely alive. Mama's always telling me, 'Stay inside! Don't you hang around with those young boys, soon you'll be lovin' them; they're all night toys!'"
"I wanna be where the boys are, I wanna fight how the boys fight! I wanna love how the boys love, I wanna be where the boys are!"
Full Name: Joan Melanie Larken
Nicknames: Joan Jett, Joanie
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Birthplace: Hollywood, California
Occupation: Unemployed
Orientation: Bisexual
Status: Single
Social Status: Artsie
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 123lb
"Hot love here, I got the drive. Neighbors been bugging me I gotta hide. I am the bitch with the hot guitar! I am the air, the sun and stars!"
Personality: She must have lived a past life with the likes of Sid Vicious and Greg Ginn because she's tough as nails and has the image to match.
Joan wants nothing more than to do something different from everyone else. She's tried being a musician, among other things but she just can't seem to find her place. Many have tried to put her in her place though. She completely disregards authorities and loves to mouth off and misbehave.
She does get frustrated easily, especially when it comes between relationships. Her parents have strong disagreements with any sort of queer lifestyle. Joan wishes she wasn't who she is, she wishes she could just be a normal girl and gush about boys with her friends instead of silently check out one of their asses.
So Joan is tough, misunderstood, like every teenager really. She wishes she had someone she was proud to say she loved. Someone that she would take out on a date and not be stared at. She wishes she were..a boy. So she could take a pretty girl out on a date, or to homecoming and no one would think twice about it.
As rough and tumble, hard bitch she is she'd probably cry if you call her a butch dyke.
"Wild in the streets, barely alive, Mama's always telling me stay inside. 'Don't you hang around with those young boys! Soon they'll be loving you with all their joy.'"
History: Joan played with action figures why her friends played with barbie dolls. She was introduced to The Sex Pistols and her friends fell head over heels for the likes of Zac Efron. She just didn't get why she didn't like everything they did.
She watched them all get boyfriends and fall in and out of love more than they changed their underwear. While in the back of her mind she knew she didn't like any of the boys at her school. None of them. She'd make comments to herself about how cute a girl looked that day only to promptly shake it out of her head and tell herself it was wrong.
Joan's parents were avid catholics and completely disagreed with any sort of queer relationships, only building Joan's frustration and upset views on her sexuality. They also complained about her just good enough grades and lack of respect for the authorities. She acts out to get their attention, she's waiting for them to ask her 'Why? Why are you doing this?'
Maybe, if she was born a boy they would love her more. She knew that would be true. If she was born a boy they would be proud of her to bring home girls, not confused that she hung around with her brother's 'girlfriend' more than he did.
Secret: She wishes she were a boy, but at the same time doesn't. She's conflicted between her parent's views and her own.
