Nate had to admit, he looked good. He had napped without getting caught in Physics so he was well rested, plus the suit was pretty nice. He wore a dark purple shirt with a light purple tie that had black pinstripes under a black jacket. He wore his lucky boxers tonight; the classic red with white hearts pair. He enjoyed being able to afford looking good for dates, it was a real confidence booster. Right after class he had zipped over to the nursery to pick up some yellow roses. He literally was right on time; the clock struck six as he knocked on her door. He stood and waited for her to answer, the flowers well hidden-ish behind his back. He had mentally prepared himself for this moment all night, and now it was here; showtime. This was the time to show her that she deserved a guy like Nate as her boyfriend.

[/i] she told herself, a bit shocked the dress was cute, yet covered up everything. She didn't take long to admire herself in the mirror before calmly walking over to the door and opening it. She bit her lip as she looked at Nate. "You look...very handsome," she nodded, not noticing the roses as she looked over him. But right now, she was all smiles. She knew this was bound to be a great night.[/ul]

Nate smiled and pulled out the roses. "I got these for you," he said, handing them to her. "I didn't know what your favorite color was or anything, but I like yellow so I figured maybe you would too." After handing them to her, he gave her a once-over. She looked great- and was wearing clothes that were more alluring than skimpy. He liked it. "You look lovely as always," he added.
"Ready to go?" He clapped his hands together. "We have a somewhat long drive ahead of us." He said, giving her a smile as he tried to guage her reaction. He wanted to her to get excited and eventually be surprised when they got there. It was a nice place, one of the nicest in Los Angeles, and he was greatful to even get a reservation. With luck, this night would go smoothly and he could take her on another date sometime soon.

Nate took her hand in his as they walked down the hall. "Yup. A long drive to the place we're going..." He said, trying to get her to show a bit of enthusiasm. It was never any fun if the girl didn't seem impressed. It made him feel like his efforts were worthless. He walked her out of the dorm hall and out to the parking lot, where his silver mitsubishi galant was parked. Though it wasn't stylish, it was an easy to drive, reliable car, and Nate loved it.
He opened the passenger's side door for her, then went around and got into the driver's seat. The sun was still out, but it was setting quickly. They had an hour to get to the restaraunt, which was perfect because the drive from Rosewood to LA was about forty five minutes. Nate's recent paycheck was burning a hole in his pocket, and he was willing to spoil her tonight.

Nate ignored her questions and shook his head. "I'm not telling you." He informed her, as he started the car and drove out of the Rosewood Boarding School parking lot. He started to drive for a while in silence, figuring she was thinking about it still. Which was good, it meant she was excited for it. Not too many kids from Rosewood were aware of how close to Los Angeles they really were, so not too many kids went. The kids that did, only went there a couple times a month to party.
"I'll give you hints though." Nate said. "If you're good." He smiled slyly to himself as he got onto the freeway, heading East to LA. He grabbed his iPod and put on some music, playing quietly in the background. She said I'm jealous of Los Angeles. She gets to keep you for month or two. And I don't know if I can handle this, the thought of being without you. The song played in the background; you'd have to really be listening to hear the lyrics. He hoped she just thought he had put on some random music. The playlist all had songs about LA, though, so maybe after a while she'd guess it.

Nate just chuckled, but kept his mouth shut as the next song came on. This city's killing me in the heat of Los Angeles. He decided to give her a tiny hint. "I love this song," he said, turning the music up a notch louder. Nate was excited, too, but he was excited for her. He was excited to see her reaction when they passed the Hollywood sign. It would literally make his night to see her smile like that. He loved her smile, it was unlike any other he'd seen.
For the next forty five minutes they drove on the highway as Nate prayed she wasn't paying too much attention to the roadway signs. Finally, he got off the freeway and drove on a street until they passed those big, white, Hollywood letters. He smiled to himself as he waited for her to notice, if she even did, that is. This was the moment he had been anticipating for the past 24 hours.
