Nate puffed out his cheeks. "What are you talking about? I'm a chub!" He smiled at her. "I'm the kind of guy Stewie Griffin would follow around with a tuba." He imitated the sounds tubas make when the elephants come out at a circus. He laughed, feeling genuinely happy. It had been a while since he could just joke with someone. Just then, Jabba the Hut came on screen and Nate couldn't help but laugh harder. "That's me!"
Once he had settled down with his laughing fit, he was just smiling. Smiling because of the situation, because he was happy and he was under the impression she was, too. He looked up at her gray eyes and pushed a piece of hair out of her face. This was starting out as a really good night.

Nate squinted his eyes a little as he studied her. "Well, you're gorgeous. Even if you are three hundred pounds." Nate enjoyed making girls blush almost as much as he enjoyed sleeping with them. He couldn't help but think they were adorable when they blushed. He got the impression that it take a little more effort to make this one blush, though. Just a feeling he had.
"So you don't have some huge boyfriend that's going to kick my ass for having you on my lap right now, right?" Nate, at 6'2 and 170 pounds was a pretty big guy for his age. Sure, he was skinny. But he had broad shoulders and well-built arms. Even at his size, he was a little nervous that Paige had found herself a man that was 6'4 and 270 pounds who would just squash him. He, himself, had a few girls who came by as regulars. They all thought they were his girlfriend, but he never actually told them they were weren't. Yet.

Nate nodded shortly, "I kinda figured you weren't 300 pounds." He said. The way her head was on his shoulder, he could feel her breathe out on his neck every so often. He liked it, it kinda gave him goosebumps. As they sat there, he had to wonder what this meant for him. Was his manwhore phase over? Did he finally want to settle down? Well, he couldn't draw conclusions just yet. He had no idea what she was feeling about all of this.
As he held her be considered this. One, he expected himself to want to settle down on the girl who wasn't exactly his type. But, honestly, Paige was exactly his type. The kind of girl that needs him and makes him feel needed. And two, if she didn't feel the same way, what wqs going to happen to him? Was he going to go completely back to his original ways? He decided to test the grounds a bit. "Hey, Paige?" He asked, quietly. "Would you like to go out to dinner with me? Sometime?"

Nate smiled open-mouthed, with his tongue slightly out like a happy dog. He gave a happy sigh, the smiled normally. It wasn't often that people saw how big of a dork he was. "When are you free next?" He asked, planning on making reservations at EJ's. He rarely went to dinner there- he only went when the girl he was with needed to be impressed. That wasn't the reason he wanted to go with Paige, though. He just figured she was worth it.
Ej's was casual until 4 in the afternoon, when their dress code changed to a more formal dresswear. The ladies wore heels amd the guys wore collared shirts, and maybe even a jacket. Nate was already planning out the night they'd spend together; dinner at Ej's and a walk in the park afterwards. Maybe even throw in some ice cream cones, too. He was excited, but trying to stay calm in front of Paige.

[/i] she thought to herself. She may have been thankful, but she was curious. "I'm free whenever," she shrugged. It was true, usually she went out every night, so it didn't matter to her. She was starting to wonder if she would be allowed to stay the night with him, he was too comfortable and she wasn't in the mood to move.[/ul]

"How about tomorrow night then?" He suggested, absent mindedly tracig designs on her arm with his fingertips. "I'll take you somewhere nice." He watched the television screen for the first time in a bit and saw a Yoda fighting scene on. Sweet. He couldn't reallysee her face while she was laying on his shoulder, but the compromise was worth it. He loved hoding her like this, and having a girl he could enjoy holding like this.
Well, he shouldn't say that just yet. He didn't technically have her. But he hada plan. It might take some time, but he knew it was time for him to grow upand be mature about things. He couldn't make up for the lack of love he felt from his mother through fake love he felt through other girls. Because that's exactly what it was; fake. And now, he knew what he wanted. The girl of his dreams didn't even come close to comparing with Paige, now he just needed to convince her to love him back.

Nate watched her pull out her phone, but tried not to look a her screen. He didn't want her to think he was a nosy guy, though he wasn't sure how he felt about her texting while hanging out with him. But, he ignored it. He thought about all the times he texted other girls while hanging out with other girls, it was only fair that he got the favor returned.
Once she had out her phone away, he looked at her. "Yeah, of course." He said. "You're welcome to stay as long as you'd like." He gave her a charming smile as always, and leaned up to softly kiss her on the lips. "I'm excited for our date tomorrow," he added. "It'll be a blast."

Nate disregard the phone and smiled at her. "I don't want you to leave anytime soon, either." He told her as he played with the ends of her hair. "Do you want to go somewhere specific?" He asked. He had just made a rather nice paycheck, so he could honestly take her wherever she wanted to go. "I'll take you wherever." But if she couldn't decide, he'd take her to EJ's.
"Tomorrow night can be all about you. I'll take you wherever you want to go. Anything short of sky diving, because death isn't on the agenda for date night." He told her, smiling a bit atnthat last part. Nate was deathly afraid of heights- hencould squeal like a little girl on the high-diving board at the pool.
